Glenwood Springs Offers Some of Colorado’s Best Dining Options Here’s A Recent Visitor’s Take On The Matter…
“Much of my decision making process regarding how much they like a town is based on the dining options available there. Sound a little silly? Try living in a city with more restaurants per capita than any other town in the United States and then moving to where you can’t find a good breakfast place to save your life. It’s no laughing matter.
Luckily for the folks in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, they don’t have that problem. No matter the reason for eating out, whether it’s fine dining or fast food, Glenwood seems to have it all. The incredible selection of eating establishments includes unique local joints as well as great chain restaurants, both national and regional.
I’m a sucker for good Mexican food, Italian food, and BBQ, and some of my favorite places to get the good stuff are right here in Glenwood Springs. First, let me tell you about Fiesta Guadalajara. If you like Mexican food, look no further. The food, the people, and the atmosphere are enough to keep me coming back again and again, and every time I try something different, its just as delicious as what I had the last time. Even if you’re not hungry, It’s a really good place to hang out with good company and one or two of Fiesta’s delicious margaritas or other specialty cocktails. So, if you’re looking for somewhere to take your family for an evening of delicious Mexican food or if you’re looking to sit and have a drink with the Glenwood locals, Fiesta Guadalajara is a great option.
You’ve probably heard of Rib City, since it’s not exclusive to Glenwood Springs. Aside from just some of the best ribs you can find, they offer a full menu of everything barbecue and then some. Whether it’s ribs you want, a pulled pork sandwich, smoked brisket, or chicken, it all tastes just the way barbecue was meant to taste. You’ll have no trouble believing that your meal was freshly prepared with nothing but the utmost quality in mind.
My favorite food of all, though, is Italian. Something about the way a good wine can pair so perfectly with pasta dishes, seafood, and Italian sausage makes my mouth water just thinking about it. If you’re the same way, you’ll love Italian Underground. It’s so popular, you may have to wait a little longer than you’re accustomed to, but I promise it’s worth it. The atmosphere alone is definitely worth checking out, as this local favorite is tucked away in a basement decorated the way you know Ray Liotta and Robert De Niro would appreciate. Make sure you check out Italian Underground next time you’re in Glenwood.
Of course there are a few other fine dining option I need to mention. Rivers, Juicy Lucy’s, and the Riviera are all wonderful steak house style fine American dining restaurants. Fin’s is the best place in town to go for fish and seafood, and the Brewpub seems to have the best local Glenwood vibe in town. Two more of my favorite places I’d like to mention are Village Smithy, just down highway 82 in Carbondale, and Taipei Tokyo. Village Smithy has probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had, and Taipei Tokyo in Glenwood serves up some incredible Asian cuisine.
So how’s that for dining options? Next time you come through Glenwood, you should have no trouble at all finding a great place to eat.”
